Darragh is the Head of Funds at Marfire, where he serves as an Independent Director, overseeing corporate governance for a diverse array of investment structures with a wide range of investment strategies across multiple jurisdictions. His portfolio includes funds, operating companies, and special purpose vehicles.

 

In his role, Darragh also develops and implements solutions to ensure economic substance compliance for relevant entities, adhering to applicable local regulations.

 

With extensive experience in fund launches, Darragh reviews fund constitutional documents, agreements, and side letters while monitoring the performance of key service providers. He ensures regulatory compliance with global authorities, including the SEC in the United States, the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA), the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), and the Securities & Futures Commission in Hong Kong (SFC).

 

Originally from Ireland, Darragh has resided in the Cayman Islands since 2017. Before joining Marfire, he served as an Independent Director at a prominent Fund Governance Firm in the Cayman Islands and previously worked in PwC's International Tax Practice.

 

Darragh believes that the Cayman Islands is an ideal jurisdiction for investment funds due to its robust regulatory framework and its reputation as a global financial hub. The islands offer a favorable tax environment, allowing both traditional and digital asset investment funds to thrive while benefiting from the expertise of seasoned professionals in the industry.

o    Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA), Irish Tax Institute (2017)
