Darragh serves as Head of Funds at Marfire, acting as an Independent Director and providing robust oversight and governance across a diverse range of investment structures and strategies spanning multiple jurisdictions. His portfolio includes investment funds, operating companies, special purpose vehicles, and Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) entities.

 

Darragh has in-depth knowledge of the VASP Act and the VASP application process, enabling him to guide clients through complex regulatory requirements and support compliance in this evolving space. He also designs and implements tailored solutions to meet economic substance and investment management company requirements, including portfolio management oversight and risk reporting aligned with local regulatory frameworks.

 

He brings extensive expertise in fund formation and governance, regularly reviewing constitutional documents, agreements, and side letters, while actively monitoring the performance of key service providers. Darragh ensures ongoing regulatory compliance with global authorities, including the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA), British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission (BVIFSC), UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), and Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).

 

Originally from Ireland, Darragh has called the Cayman Islands home since 2017. Prior to joining Marfire, he served as an Independent Director at a leading fund governance firm in the Cayman Islands and previously worked in PwC’s International Tax Practice.
